Lock Your Room WITHOUT Using A Password
This is an alternative method of locking your room without having to secure it with a password. Password protected rooms can be circumvented if an unauthorized user guesses or obtains the password without your consent. Also, you receive an automatic PM in your Paltalk Notifier that alerts you when people attempt to join your password-protected room with an incorrect password. Unpaid rooms (without a paid paltalk room subscription) are limited to a very small number of users who are able to join while the room is password protected and anyone who is listed as an admin (@) can easily join the room without ever even being prompted for a password and as a result might drop-in uninvited without notice during a time that you may not necessarily want them to enter your room.
This method will instead put your room on "lock down" and prevent any additional users who aren't already present in the room at that time from joining your room until you decide to reverse the setting. The setting can be enabled or disabled in real time by the room owner whenever they choose. Once the room is "locked down" using this method your group will continue to appear on the room list (unpaid rooms will show up on the room list as long as there is an admin present) but there will be absolutely no visible indication that the room has been locked. Anyone that is currently in your room at the time will be allowed to remain inside. Anyone who leaves the room while it's locked-down will not be permitted to re-join until the room has been unlocked again. This also includes ALL Admins & Super Admins and even yourself! Meaning you must unlock your own room to reenter it if you happen to get disconnected. When users attempt to join your room they will instead receive a pop-up box that states that that the room owner has not yet created a room yet.
This way you can, for example, hold a meeting with your super admins without your admins having the ability to drop-in without an invitation and you can hand-pick the users you want to allow in your room at that particular time. Since no password is required for this method you will not receive any notifications from Paltalk when users are attempting to guess your password and were unsuccessful - since there doesn't need to be a password on the room at all to place it on lock-down. Anyone who wishes to join the room after it has been locked will have to PM the room owner and request that the room be temporarily unlocked so that they are able to enter (if they can even figure out why your room isn't working in the first place). As an optional secondary security measure, a customized password can then be enabled at that time personalized to that particular person in order to ensure that only the authorized individual is able to gain access during the time that it has been temporarily unlocked for that purpose.
Simply Enable The "DISABLE MY ROOM" Setting At The Bottom Of Your Room Editor Page on Paltalk.com to put your room on lock down and disable it to unlock it again.
